Chapter One Draws to a Close

Sorry for the delay in updates, but the doctors are not being sensitive to our schedule or need for information. (It’s not like this is brain surgery…. Oh wait… in this case…)

A new scan was done yesterday (Thursday) afternoon and the results were read this afternoon. The scan reveals nothing new. There is still no mass or other threatening sign, but they are still unable to see the point of origin of the problem. The cause of all of this remains a mystery and the doctors are not content with not knowing the cause.

Byron was subjected to his most rigorous session of physical therapy this morning (Friday). It included a trip outside, ramps, stairs and an overall workout to prepare him for the trip home. The session went very well and Byron was cleared for release and headed home!

So now Chapter Two is upon us. The doctor continues to demand that Byron rest and do nothing that will raise his blood pressure. Next week further tests will be run to determine the cause of this episode. It is very important to find the root cause so that a future episode can be avoided and a course of treatment ca be planned. Please do not allow the intensity of Chapter One to lull you into being passive about prayer in Chapter Two! Pray for the doctors, Byron, Brenda and the entire family who all need rest. And pray for God to complete this story of grace by restoring Byron to his family, his ministry and good health! Having said that…this is a time to celebrate…happy dances are fine; a good hallelujah is encouraged, you may sing Amazing Grace at the top of your lungs. Whatever suits you…give God worship and honor…you may begin!

Dave,
Thank you VERY MUCH for posting this last message. The message in itself was an answer to prayer. We were hoping the doctors would not rest until the root cause was found and treated.
May God bless Byron, Brenda, and the family during this recovery period!

We'll continue to praise God for all He has done, and is doing, and pray that He will receive much glory from each and every chapter of the adventure, and also continue to pray for complete healing and restoration. Brenda... praying for YOU to get the rest you need as you care for "B-man" as Mike would say, and for the girls. You rest too, ok? Love you both so much.
Love, Carol

Hey Byron!
I hope you know that a whole bunch of folks here at Eastside continue to pray daily for your continued successful recovery. What a blessing it is to know that God answers prayer and continues to work miracles in our lives so that we don't forget that he's there! I pray that this journey will be short and that you'll be back on the platform soon. I've always felt that you've been specially annointed with the gift of pure worship. Think about how much more intense that gift will be after this trial.

Cynde and I love you, Brenda and the kids. Get well soon my brother.

John
