"We Need a Little Christmas Eve"

As I shared in this week's eNews, we’ve spent this advent season looking into the lives of the characters surrounding that first Christmas. I am continually reminded that all of the characters of advent had radically different experiences and emotions, yet somehow Christmas found them. And that even today, Christmas Eve, no matter where we are in our individual journeys - Christmas is waiting to find us.

Yesterday, so many of you, along with our staff and volunteers from the Crescenta Valley High School team, set aside your regular holiday activities and came to help prepare for our Christmas Eve services tonight. So many experiences and emotions in each of our lives, yet we wait in anticipation to once again receive the gift that God offers us and offer it back to Him and others.

Tonight we'll gather at 4 and 6 p.m. at CVHS.  I'm excited to be a part of it and I'm looking forward to sharing the experience of all that has been prepared for you. We'll enjoy the beauty, the carols, the candles, and be reminded of how God finds us, whether we are celebrated or invisible.  We will bring our little red boxes filled with offerings for others, and thank God for his blessings.  I hope to see you there.

With anticipation,

Pastor Dave
