My News, My Groups, My Friends

Get connected with Unifyer at Montrose Church. Unifyer is a companion to our website, a place where you can read news, join groups, find friends to share the day-to-day journey.  It's easy to get started. (download a quick reference card)

1. Register

Click on the Unifyer logo. Be patient, it might take several seconds for the application to load and install the necessary plug-ins for the first use. When the login window appears, click the “Register” button. Enter your basic information, desired username and password, and click the “Submit” button.

2. Login

After you register, the system will return to the login window. Simply enter your username and password that you just created, and then click “LogIn” (do not click “Register” as the system will attempt to create a new account.)

3. Set up your profile

Click “My Profile” in the top right corner of the screen. In the Profile window, click the “Edit” button. Fill in your name and details. When you’re finished, click the “Done” button at the top of your profile. You can start a blog, view your friends, view your groups, and add media. Choose from the buttons at the top of your profile to start adding content to your own content.

4. Add News Feeds

Click the “News” button at the top of the screen. On the right side of the screen, click on the name of a news feed that you want to keep updated on and drag it to the empty space to create a “widget”. By clicking directly on the widget, you can access all the articles and media in that group.

5. Add Friends

Click the “Friends” button at the top of the screen. On the right side of the screen, click the name of a person you want to request as a friend, and drag it to an empty space just like you did for the widgets.

6. Join Groups

Click the “Groups” button at the top of the screen. On the right side of the screen, click the name of the Group you’re interested in, and drag it into an empty space.

In Unifyer, you can “join” as many groups as you want, just to check them out. The Group description provides details about how to get involved in a LifeGroup which meets regularly.

7. Cruise the Site

Comment on news posts and blogs, check out cool stuff and start talking with folks. For help, click the question mark in the lower left corner of the screen.
