For the past three years, Montrose Church has supported the city of Los Angeles with Summer Night Lights, an effort for gang reduction on summer Friday nights at Hubert Humphrey Park in Pacoima. Volunteers have barbequed, painted faces, played games, and worked on crafts with families and children living in an area of high gang activity, many of whom deal with it in their homes.
You can make a difference this summer as a Summer Night Lights volunteer and experience a unique opportunity to just be present in the lives of these families. Find out all about this Friday Night program, who we are serving and how to serve them best by attending our Summer Night Lights Orientation Meeting on Sunday, July 1. This meeting will acquaint you with this demographic, as well as outline the specific responsibilities and expectations for volunteers.
- Orientation: Sunday, July 1, 11:30 a.m.
- Location: Main Classroom, Education Building
3909 Orangedale Ave., house adjacent to church
