A few months ago one of our members gave me a copy of the video, "The Secret," which was being distributed as part of a corporate training program. Within the following week, several other random events and conversations focused my attention on similar topics that are currently popular, such as "the god inside all of us," new scriptures and new revelations. I began to think about these topics and realized that it's easy to sit within the church bubble and talk about how mixed up our world is...but I quickly began to realize that these ideas are so prevalent that I am prone to be influenced by them in so many small ways that over time they begin to influence my own thinking.

In preparing for this summer's series, I've felt led to run several of these popular ideas through a Biblical filter. It's very interesting to see how these myths really measure up to God's truth. Hence, the Mythbusters series was born. The purpose of the series is not to bash or poke fun of our culture, rather we will seek to expose the "truth" within the "myth". Hope to see you this weekend!
