Update from Pastor Dave, 1/10/2025
Dear Montrose Church Family,
Our hearts are broken for the devastating loss due to the Los Angeles fires this week. We grieve with our members, family, friends, and ministry partners who have lost their homes, businesses, and churches, even as the numbers continue to grow daily.
Our simple philosophy of ministry is that we are making this journey through life together. We do not know how to explain the often painful twists and turns that life takes, but we can hold on to each other, help each other, and stand in the gap for people in need. Now more than ever that is our mission. WE WILL BE WITH EACH OF YOU AND THIS COMMUNITY THROUGH ALL THE DAYS AHEAD! Due to the circumstances, we are making changes to our weekend services.
Sunday Service Schedule Changes:
- Montrose Campus - The Montrose Campus remains under Evacuation Warning with an extensive power outage. In light of that, we will not meet in person this Sunday. We will stream on Facebook on Sunday, January 12 at 10 a.m. (our normal schedule) at https://facebook.com/montrosechurch. Be assured that given all of the variables and continued red flags, even if power is restored at some point this will remain our plan for this weekend.
- Pasadena Campus - The Pasadena Campus (1480 East Washington Boulevard) will meet in person at 9 a.m. for a time of worship, reflection, and prayer. I know many of us want to be together to pray, offer support, and begin to heal.
How to Help: We have established an Emergency Assistance fund for the fires. You can give directly to the fund at this link. You can also use Text2Give. Simply text the amount you wish to give to 84321 in the following format: 100 la-fire (replace the 100 with your amount).
The Pasadena community is also in need of water. Please feel free to drop off drinking water donations at the Pasadena Campus.
Resources for Assistance:If you need assistance, please reach out. People have already begun to give generously and our staff is standing by to assist with your immediate needs. We are connecting to resources across the city and country and standing by to help. Please contact Pasadena Campus Pastor, Scott Chamberlain at scott.chamberlain@montrosechurch.org if you are in need of assistance. You can also send prayer requests to our Prayer Team at prayer@montrosechurch.org.
We remain in prayer with all of you as this situation continues to unfold. We are here to serve and assist, as we also walk through this journey together.
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” - Isaiah 41:10
In Him,
- Pastor Dave
